It's amazing how many men don't consider anything other than a closed fisted punch to be physical abuse. My ex-husband had said that he never physically abused me because he didn't 'hit' me. It's true, he never punched me. But he choked me, slammed me against walls, pinched me, and grabbed my arms when I tried to walk away from him. Physical abuse isn't just punching. It's any forceful or violent physical behavior, involving contact intended to cause pain, injury, or other physical suffering or harm.
